In October 2013 Limalco was founded as a subsidiary under the wings of parent company JMConstruct. Limalco specializes in making formwork molds for the concrete industry. A large 5-axis milling machine was immediately purchased with a machining range of 8000 mm in the X axis, 2500 mm in the Y axis and 900 mm in the Z axis, unique for the region!

 

The milling center is optimally utilized by starting up the production of aluminum formwork beams. Due to the versatility of the machine it is possible to mill all aluminum profiles in a single fixture so that there is a smooth flow in the production process.

 

Soon the demand came from customers to also make molds from polystyrene (EPS, Styrofoam). Thanks to its easy machinability and the low material cost, the most diverse shapes can be made without problems.

 

Partly because of our flexibility, we often encountered problems in the CAM software that controls the milling center. That is why we decided in 2015 to purchase an integrated CAD-CAM module. As a result, our "milling program" is incorporated directly into our drawing package and changes to the drawings are stored directly in the CAM module, which results in a considerable saving of time.

 

At the end of 2016, a CNC wire cutting machine was invested to ease the milling machine from the simpler work and thus to lower the cost price of these products. It is even possible to pre-machine the workpieces on the cutting machine, after which they are easier to reprocess on the milling machine.

 

Our main activity remains to date the milling of aluminum and EPS formwork molds, but we are increasingly being asked to be able to realize all kinds of very different projects.

 

Also in 2018 Limalco continues to innovate in the treatment and coating of EPS formwork molds!
